How Your Self-Guided Bike Tour Actually Works

Here's exactly what happens from the moment you arrive to your last cycling day — no surprises, just great riding.

We offer three ways to explore by bike: Self-Guided (our most popular option), Guided, and Fully Guided. Whichever you choose, we handle all the logistics so you can focus entirely on the journey.

Your Tour, Step by Step

1

Before You Arrive

  • We send you detailed route navigation + GPX files for your phone
  • Choose your preferred daily distances — shorter or longer options available
  • Hotels and luggage transfers are pre-booked — nothing left to organise on your end
  • We're available to answer any questions before you travel
2

Arrival Day

  • Meet our local partner at the starting point
  • Bike fitting — adjusted to your height and riding comfort
  • Short practical briefing: route highlights, what to expect, tips for day one
  • You receive the emergency hotline number and local contact details
3

Each Riding Day

  • Follow turn-by-turn navigation on your phone — reliable and easy to use
  • Your luggage is transported to the next hotel while you ride
  • Our hotline is available throughout the day if you need anything
  • Stop whenever you like, take your time, explore — entirely your pace
4

If Something Goes Wrong

  • Route changes arranged quickly if conditions require it
  • Taxi transfer to your next hotel available at any point
  • Technical assistance for bike issues — usually same day
  • A real person answers the phone — not a chatbot, not a call centre
5

Last Day

  • Return bikes at the agreed point
  • Transfer options to help you get home or continue your journey
  • We'd love to hear how it went — many guests return for a second tour

How Independent Is It, Really?

The most common question before booking: How much will we be on our own? Here's the honest answer:

Self-Guided Tour
  • Ride at your own pace — no group to keep up with
  • Flexible daily schedule, start and stop when you like
  • Privacy and independence throughout
  • Hotline support available all day, every day
  • All accommodation and logistics handled for you
Guided Tour
  • Experienced guide with you on the route each day
  • Group atmosphere and shared experience
  • Daily briefings and local knowledge included
  • Great for first-timers or those who prefer company
  • Support vehicle available throughout

What People Usually Worry About

These are the questions we get most before a booking — and the real answers:

What if I get too tired to finish the day's route?

It happens occasionally, and it's completely fine. We can arrange a taxi transfer to your next hotel at any point during the day. Many routes also include shorter alternatives built in from the start. Just call the hotline — we'll sort it.

What if it rains all week?

Cycling in light rain is actually enjoyable once you're moving — and most guests are surprised how rarely weather genuinely ruins a day. If conditions are bad, we help adjust the plan. Hotels are flexible, and we know the routes well enough to find alternatives.

What if I miss a turn or get lost?

The GPS navigation makes this very unlikely. But if it happens, our hotline will have you back on track within minutes — whether that means talking you through it or arranging a pickup.

What if the bike breaks down?

We provide quality bikes that are regularly serviced before each tour. A basic repair kit is included. If something more serious happens, we arrange a replacement or technical assistance — usually the same day.

What if I'm not fit enough?

Our tours cover a wide range of distances and terrain. When you enquire, we ask how much you'd like to ride per day and recommend accordingly. There's no minimum fitness requirement — we match the route to the rider.

Not sure if this style of travel suits you?

Tell us how much you'd like to ride each day, your travel dates, and what kind of scenery you enjoy. We'll recommend the right tour — or build something tailored for you.

Our self-guided tours

Accommodation is one of the most important parts of each trip that strongly influences the final look of it. We make our best to offer you the best possible accommodation in the prefered category. The hotels we offer are either comfortable small hotels or quite guesthouses both in 3* quality, all of it rather small and with personality than big chain. All the tours have accommodation in or near the town/village centres so you can spend the afternoon and evening after biking exploring the town itself or simply enjoy the peace of the place.
