Ride freely.
Always know where you are.
Your personal tour companion shows your route, daily plan and important places — even without signal. No roaming charges, no staring at your phone. Just ride.
Self-guided tours sound free…
until you start wondering:
Every year, thousands of cyclists book self-guided tours across Europe. They're experienced travellers, not beginners. But even the most confident riders feel a familiar unease as they set off on day one.
These aren't navigation problems. They're confidence problems. And they're completely avoidable.
Instead of constant navigation instructions,
we give you orientation.
You see your position directly on the planned route — with hotels, stops and important points displayed around you. You don't follow a voice. You don't stare at a screen. You glance at the map once, see exactly where you are, and keep riding. The route is there. You are on it. That's all you need to know.
You ride naturally.
No stress. No guessing.

How it works
Enter your personal code
You receive a unique access code with your booking confirmation. One code, one phone, your trip — fully private and secure.
The trip downloads to your phone
Maps, routes, waypoints, accommodation and contacts are all saved to your device. The whole process takes a few minutes on wifi before you leave.
Open each day and see your route
Every day of your tour has its own page — with the route line, elevation profile, distance, and all relevant stops marked on the map.
Your position appears on the map
The app uses your phone's GPS to show where you are on the planned route in real time. No signal required. No roaming. It just works.
After the initial download, everything runs completely offline. Your phone stays in your pocket.

Everything on one screen
Open the app at any point during your ride and you'll immediately see what matters — without menus, without searching, without typing anything.
- Today's route — the planned line for the day, visible at a glance
- Your live position — updated in real time using your phone's GPS
- Distance remaining — to the next stop or to today's hotel
- Elevation profile — so you know what's coming before it arrives
- Hotel location — with address, check-in time and a link to maps
- Recommended stops — restaurants, cafés and attractions curated by our local team
- Emergency contacts — your guide and the 24/7 support number, always one tap away
There's a better way to ride
Turn-by-turn navigation
- Interrupts you every few minutes
- You slow down, look at the screen, lose the flow
- A voice tells you what to do — constantly
- You follow orders instead of enjoying the ride
- Exhausting on a multi-day cycling holiday
Orientation-based navigation
- You glance at the map once and keep riding
- You see where you are — that's all you need
- No voice, no interruptions, no stress
- The landscape stays the main character
- You ride like you belong there
Our system keeps you oriented,
while you still enjoy the journey.
A real moment on the road
It's day three. Somewhere in the Danube valley, you roll into a small village and stop at a café with a terrace in the sun. You order coffee. You pull out your phone — not because you're lost, just to check in. You open the app.
In two seconds you see:
- You're on the route — right where you should be
- 18 km to the hotel — easy afternoon riding
- A climb starts in 4 km — nothing serious, 80 metres
You put the phone away. You finish your coffee. You keep riding. That's the whole point.
Common questions
Does it navigate me turn by turn?
No — and that's intentional. The app shows your live position on the planned route so you always know where you are. You don't need to follow instructions. You just need to see that you're on the right path. Most cyclists check the app two or three times a day — at junctions, before a climb, or when they want to know how far the hotel is.
Do I need internet during the ride?
Only for the initial setup. Before you leave, the app downloads your complete trip — maps, routes, waypoints, photos and contacts — to your phone. After that, everything works fully offline. No roaming charges, no searching for wifi, no signal needed.
Can I still use Garmin, Wahoo or Komoot?
Yes. GPX files are available for every day of your tour and can be downloaded directly from the app to your GPS device or cycling computer. The Europe Bike Tours app and your Garmin work great together — use whichever you prefer for the actual ride.
What if I accidentally leave the route?
You'll see it immediately on the map — your position moves away from the route line. Most of the time it's a small detour and you find your way back within minutes. The app also shows you the key waypoints ahead, so it's easy to get back on track without stress.
Who is this app for?
It's designed for self-guided cyclists who want the freedom of riding independently without the anxiety of getting lost. It works especially well for couples and first-time multi-day cyclists, and for anyone travelling from outside Europe who wants reliable offline navigation without a local SIM card.
