Tour description
Let yourself been taken of the beaten track! Hit the trail through the fairytale nature of the Bohemian Swiss NP and the Lusatian Mountains. This piece of land had been admired for its uniqueness since the 19th century. It did not change much since then. You will enjoy the wild forrest, sandstone rock towers, deep gorges. Countless viewpoints and the beauty of the folk architecture will finish the picture. Travel in time as you will use the historical coaches, boats and steam train to travel between the hiking parts. Feel noble as those who first have uncovered and truly enjoyed the local marvells have been the old noble families since some 18-19th century!
Romantical hiking retreat. Some exceptional hiking in two pocket size mountain ranges. Germany and Czech Republic. Deep silent gorges, sandstone spires and mesetas with 5 star views.
Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival to Děčín

Individual arrival to Děčín - flight to Prague or Dresden; personal transportation to Bad Schandau on demand. This day is yours to explore the capital of the Bohemian Swiss NP.
Day 2 Děčín - Kurort Oybin - Jedlová-Krásná Lípa

Morning transfer by historical steam train to the Lusatian mountains. Your first hiking starts with conquering of the castle ruin Tolštejn. Travel back in time to 1890 when the first tourists used this journey to enjoy all the surrounding beauty! Enjoy the tiny spa Kurort Oybin and then hike to the heart of the mountains. Todays lodgings is a historical viewing tower on the romantical Jedlová hill. Also you will visit a pilgrim chapel on the top of the Křížová hora with its calvary. Then you will slip in the National Park , called Bohemian Switzerland. Todays stay is in a cosy town Krásná Lípa. Optionnaly take a look on a national park museum, local brewery and chocolate manufacture.
Day 3 Krásná Lípa-Doubice

All day hiking in the NP.
Get in touch with a history of the town Krásná Lípa on the nature educational trail Köglerova. The entire trail includes 40 different posts - stations with various activities. Admiring all the sandstone towers of Kyjov Dell, till evening you get to a charming Doubice, a village of wooden statues.
The local attraction is a famous rural gallery of carved statues, which are located on the grounds of the Stará Hospoda boarding house. They mostly take the form of fairy-tale apparitions, various animals and other characters from the world of fantasy. There are already more than 300 of them and more are still growing.

Day 4 Doubice - Rynartice village

Today is the longest hike of the whole tour. Through the deep forest and breathtaking views you get to yet another fairytale village - Rynartice to stay over the night. During the route you meet another proof of the long tourist history here. The noble chalets of Kinsky family as this nobility liked to spend their summers here. Then you will admire one of the most stunnig panoramic views of the Bohemian Switzerland. Return by public bus to Doubice, todays stay.
Day 5 Rynartice - Mezní Louka

Unawaited you will descent to the Pavlino údolí dell, where you will meet the Kamenice creek, a very popular tourist spot. The entire valley begins in the west at Cold Stream and meanders romantically around the sandstone slopes and the mouth near the former Griesl mill, which is currently a recreational facility. On the western edge in front of the pond, you can see a rocky niche called Mermaide Cave. The entire valley is home to rare fauna and flora,
From here you will continue a breathtaking ridge trip on the sandstone towers. You will discover the bird´s eye perspective views of the Bohemian Switzerland, feeling the emotions of the first pilgrims. Accommodation in Mezní Louka.
Day 6 Mezní Louka - Hřensko

Today is full of wows! Hike up to the biggest natural bridge in Europe - Pravčická brána. Enjoy the landscape once admired by the fayirytale writer Hans Christian Andersen. Hike in the places that invited the movie makers to shoot the Chronicles of Narnia. After a short historical coach transfer you descend to the Kamenice stream gorge. A hike along its banks takes us to another local wonder - a Venice-like boat trip down to the border town of Hřensko.

Day 7 Elbe Valley - viewpoint in Bohemian Switzerland Belvedere
Show dayDistance: 11 - 19 km / 6,8 - 11,8 miles
In the morning be ready for a transfer to the start of the last hiking point near Hřensko.
You will climb up to the top of the sand stone rocks surrounded by the deepest river canyon in Europe. The whole day will be full of great romantic views from several natural and historical man-made viewpoints. The day tour ends in the city of Děčín in the same hotel, where you have started.

Lukas was born and raised in the Czech capital of Prague. His keen interest in history and sports influenced his determination to study both subjects at university in Germany. His passion for travel also led to Lukas adding a tourism degree to his studies. Biking, exploring, and discovering interesting places was one of the determining moments when in 2010 he decided to start Europe Bike Tours. Since than Lukas is keen on developing new products, improve services and above all, share his passion for traveling while guiding one of the tours!

Our self-guided tours
Accommodation is one of the most important parts of each trip that strongly influences the final look of it. We make our best to offer you the best possible accommodation in the prefered category. The hotels we offer are either comfortable small hotels or quite guesthouses both in 3* quality, all of it rather small and with personality than big chain. All the tours have accommodation in or near the town/village centres so you can spend the afternoon and evening after biking exploring the town itself or simply enjoy the peace of the place.
